What information we collect

When families enroll at Vidyalaya we collect the following information:

• Student's name, age, and grade level
• Parent or guardian name and contact information (email, phone)
• Language preference (Hindi, Gujarati, or Telugu)
• Prior language study experience, if any
• Fee payment records

We do not collect Social Security numbers, government IDs, or financial account details.

How we use it

• To place students in the appropriate class level
• To communicate class schedules, cancellations, and school announcements
• To process and track tuition payments
• To maintain attendance and academic progress records

We do not use student or family information for marketing, advertising, or any purpose unrelated to operating the school.

Who we share it with

We do not sell or share personal information with third parties. Information is accessible only to Vidyalaya volunteer coordinators and teachers who need it to perform their role.

We use Google Workspace tools (Meet, Drive) to operate classes. Student names may appear in class meeting lists. We do not share contact information with Google beyond what is incidental to operating these tools.

Data retention

We retain enrollment and payment records for up to three years after a student's last active term. Records may be retained longer if required to resolve a dispute or comply with a legal obligation.

Your rights

You may request a copy of the personal information we hold about your family, ask us to correct inaccuracies, or ask us to delete records once your child is no longer enrolled.
