Acceptable Use Policy

Guidelines for online class participation

Effective date: January 1, 2025

Scope

This policy applies to all students, parents, and volunteers participating in Vidyalaya classes and school communications, including Google Meet sessions, email, and any other school-sponsored digital channel.

During online classes

  • Students should be in a quiet space, ready to participate when class begins
  • Cameras should be on when requested by the teacher
  • Microphones should be muted when not speaking
  • Students may not share their class meeting link with anyone outside the school
  • Recording any part of a class session without prior written permission from the school is not permitted
  • Screen sharing by students requires the teacher's permission

Appropriate conduct

  • Treat teachers, volunteers, and fellow students with courtesy and respect
  • Use the chat function only for class-related messages
  • Do not display, share, or discuss content that is offensive, inappropriate, or unrelated to class
  • Do not impersonate another student, teacher, or staff member

Parent responsibilities

Parents of younger students (K–3) are encouraged to be present or nearby during class. Parents are responsible for ensuring their child has a suitable environment and device for learning.

Parents should not interrupt class sessions. If you have a concern, contact the teacher directly after class or reach out to info@vidyalaya.org.

Violations

Violations of this policy may result in a warning, temporary removal from a class session, or in serious or repeated cases, suspension from the program. The school will contact the family before taking disciplinary action.
